Keratex Hoof Shield
Keratex Hoof Shield is the ultimate show quality cosmetic lacquer, giving hooves a superb high gloss finish which is hard wearing and durable. It has none of the mess and stickiness associated with oils and greases.
Consolidates shelly hooves by forming a hard protective layer and can be used to tighten slightly loose clenches. Dries to a hard transparent surface in seconds. Degrease the hoof with acetone. Sand paper the hoof wall if it is rough.
When first using Keratex Hoof Shield apply two to three coats to a properly prepared hoof. Thereafter, a weekly application should suffice. Use acetone to remove Keratex Hoof Shield from the hoof.

Keratex Hoof Hardener
This product is formulated to produce a tougher hoof capsule reducing the moisture content and increasing the durability of the hoof.
Foals and weanlings often have weak hoof capsules during the first few months of life. Weak horn often develops splits and cracks that allow moisture and bacteria to enter the sensitive structures which invariably cause a painful abcess; using Keratex daily on the sole and lower wall during wet weather provides a tough, more resilient hoof with far fewer problems. your farrier will appreciate the effort.
Weaker, shelly walls respond quite well to daily treatment with a thin coat of Keratex hardener. Painting the cracks and crevices eliminates the moist, dark areas that harbor bacteria and fungi therefore keeping hooves healthier.
